Hi, I'm Miguel.

I work with LLMs. I love learning about how they work and building apps that apply them in interesting ways.

You should check out inContext, a language learning app I built with a friend. It gives you things to read at your level, on topics you actually care about. I learned a lot about language acquisition before ML, as an English teacher and a Japanese student in Japan.

I've also been building agents for the past few years at Aily Labs in New York. Earlier this year I took a few months at the Recurse Center, where I built a language model from scratch and fine-tuned Claro, a small model that simplifies text for language learners.

Con un amigo monté inContext, una aplicación para aprender a leer en otros idiomas. Te da textos adaptados a tu nivel, sobre cualquier tema.

Soy estadounidense, pero tengo familia española y he vivido cuatro años en España. Allí empecé a crear agentes en Aily Labs, donde sigo ahora desde Nueva York. A principios de este año me tomé unos meses en Recurse Center para construir un modelo de lenguaje desde cero y hacer Claro, un fine-tuning de un modelo pequeño.

Treballo amb LLM. M'agrada fer aplicacions que els facin servir bé i estudiar com funcionen.

Amb un amic vam crear inContext, una aplicació per aprendre idiomes. Et dona textos adaptats al teu nivell sobre temes que t'agraden.

Vaig començar a desenvolupar agents d'IA a Aily Labs a Barcelona, on vaig aprendre una mica de català treballant amb un cap molt pacient i jugant a Super Smash amb catalans molt catalans. Ara hi continuo des de Nova York. A principis d'aquest any vaig passar uns mesos al Recurse Center per construir un model de llenguatge des de zero, i també fer Claro, un fine-tune d'un model petit.

LLMは本当に面白いと思います。どうすればLLMを使ったアプリを上手に作れるのか、LLMはどんな仕組みで動いているのか、いつも考えています。

特に力を入れてきたのは、共同で立ち上げた言語学習アプリのinContextです。自分のレベルに合った文章を、好きなテーマで読むことができます。以前は富山に2年、横浜に1年住んで、英語を教えていました。

今はニューヨークのAily LabsでAIエンジニアとして働いていて、エージェントを作っています。今年の初めには、数か月間Recurse Centerでモデルの仕組みを勉強しました。言語モデルを一から作ったり、文章をやさしく書き換える小さなモデルClaroを作ったりしました。
